In August 2023, Alison joined the Board of JID and, as of January 2024, is providing management and operational oversight in the capacity of Acting CEO. Alison has a formal background in architecture and after an extensive career in the field chose to follow her passion of working in the International Development sector. Alison has worked for Cardno as Regional Manager - Infrastructure delivering infrastructure projects for clients such as the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), the World Bank (WB), Asian Development Bank (ADB) and other organisations across Asia and the Pacific. She has been involved in managing and overseeing buildings, roads, ports, wharves and water management programs in project locations such as Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, Fiji, Papua New Guinea and Timor Leste. These projects focus on improving development outcomes in the health, education, transport and law and justice sectors through the effective implementation of strategic investments closely linked to better environmental and climate resilient outcomes.

Alison is an Honorary Fellow and Senior Lecturer within the Melbourne School of Design, the graduate school of the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning at the University of Melbourne and developed the Design Management elective as part of the Master of Construction, Project Management and Architecture programs. She has attended Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government as a participant in ‘Global Change Agents’ and ‘Leadership in the 21st Century’ electives as part of the Executive Education Program.

She is a Registered Architect in Western Australia and Victoria, a member of Australian Institute of Architects, National Women in Construction and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She is a Board Member of Moorambilla Voices, a not-for-profit regional youth multi - arts program, and has also supported several other not-for-profit organisations in a volunteer capacity including Habitat for Humanity and the Victorian based, Fitted for Work.

Sophie is a business development expert with extensive knowledge in developing and delivering projects within complex environments. Sophie’s experience spans across the development, humanitarian and peace building nexus.

Sophie has over 8 years’ experience in project management and business development within international development and humanitarian relief. As a specialist in development financing institutions, Sophie joined Johnstaff International Development as Business Development Manager. Her project development and client management approach is the product of extensive experience in delivery of challenging projects in highly complex international environments. She has worked in over 15 countries across the Pacific, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa, Middle East, Eastern Europe and North America.

Charlene is passionate about delivering world-class, high quality services for communities across Australia and the Pacific.

Through her close work with people and organisations, these services are also easy to access. Charlene joins JID with 15 year’s experience in senior roles within the Victorian public system including public health services, the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Justice and Regulation. She has also held roles in the areas of strategy, stakeholder engagement and facilitation, clinical service planning, change management, performance, governance and program and project management. Charlene also has substantial experience in commercial advisory, investment mapping, and business case development.

Rick Mollmann is a project director with more than 25 years’ experience. He’s worked across the spectrum of defence, education, residential and community projects.

Rick brings to JID his advanced project management skills and a strong understanding of service, transition planning and change management. Rick is a trained Defence procurement specialist and has undertaken acquisitions and commissioning of capital equipment and infrastructure. He understands operational and support requirements and has experience developing high quality tenders. Rick delivers compelling business cases, supported by cost benefit and risk analysis to underpin financial and program decisions.

From start up to where it is today, Darren Morgan has been pivotal in leading the growth of JID. With over 25 years’ experience in Program Management, Project Director and Senior Project Manager roles, Darren’s project management skills include planning, delivering and commissioning complex infrastructure. He also has extensive experience working for government partners in Australia and overseas. Darren’s significant experience and skills establishing program management units enable technical skills to be transferred, while embedding capacity development for clients.

Brad is a program delivery specialist with more than 30 years’ experience in strategy development, business development, program design and delivery of multi-disciplinary programs. Most of his consulting experience has been in international development working for managing contractors, as a freelance consultant, and for AusAID/DFAT. He also has experience in indigenous health and disability services. With experience in managing and leading tendering, implementing, and monitoring and evaluating programs in the infrastructure, education, health, and governance, he can deliver a holistic approach from concept to result. Brad has worked across the Asia-Pacific region including Cambodia, Fiji, Indonesia, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Solomon Islands, Timor-Leste, Vanuatu, and Vietnam.
